Still important to Voice Your Opposition ahead of Thursday, March 26th mtg

We have two more opportunities to voice our opposition to the Lakeridge Golf Hotel Resort

on the driving range. The project will be heard this Thursday March 26 at 6:00pm by the Regional Planning

Commission. You can attend in person at 1105 Terminal Way or send comments to the email addresses

below. If you are interested in submitting written public comment, please email your comments

to: input@tmrpa.org

Please reference 6A when writing your opposition letters.

The Duncan application triggers a review by Regional Planning Commission for two

reasons: Reno amended its master plan which requires a conformance review; and the

Suburban Mixed Use needed for the hotel use puts the property in a different regional

planning tier. The members of the RPC are listed below and a 2/3 vote is needed to

approve.

The committee is comprised of Planning Commissioners from Reno, Sparks, and Washoe

County. The outcome of the meeting will move to the Regional Board, in which a final

decision will be made.

Save Lakeridge will oppose the rezoning/hotel resort project before the Planning

Commission and, if approved, appeal to the Regional Board, which will meet in April.

The Regional Planning Commissioners are below, with their emails addresses.

Rob Pierce (Washoe) rpierce@washoecounty.gov

Marilyn Kramer (Sparks) m.kramer59@charter.net

Michael Flick (Washoe) rmflick@washoecounty.us

David Giacomin (Reno) david.giacomin@kimley-horn.com

Dan Lazzareschi (Washoe) dlazzareschi@gmail.com

Karl Nieberlein (Sparks)

Shelley Read (Sparks) shelleymread@gmail.com

With Sparks facing backlash at Red Hawk due to plans to replace a golf course with

housing, Sparks members may be more open to our opposition—it's worth pursuing.

If you can’t attend and want to watch, meetings are live streamed via the TMRPA YouTube

channel and can be watched by following this

With your support, we will keep working to make our voices heard.
